A redesign of a small coffee shop and barbershop located in San Luis Obispo. The clients wanted the space to double as a small venue space for music events so the cafe space was pushed down a floor to make room for amphitheater seating. A dramatic sloped ceiling compresses the space toward the back of the space creating a darker, more intimate setting, and a visual focal point for performances. This suspended element carries out to the street to create the infrastructure for farmer's markets and outdoor seating.
